art·ist /ˈärdəst/: A person who produces paintings or drawings as a profession or hobby. A person who practices any of the various creative arts, such as a sculptor, novelist, poet, or filmmaker.
I've considered myself an "artist" since I was a child. I've always loved creativity no matter what the style, genre or medium. By the time I was in middle school, I was experimenting with charcoal, pencil, paint and pen and ink. I learned the bulk of it in school, but continued at home out of my own curiosity and quest for creating. By the time I was 14, I was attending the Art Institute of Boston in my summers and learning the fundamentals of design.
I suppose you could say that everything that I create makes me artist, but although it's not part of the "definition", I've always felt that artists should have exhibits and shows. In 2018, I created my own art show that was a non-traditional take on the gallery show format. I wanted to exhibit my art that I created as a graphic designer the way that a painter would exhibit art that they painted. The result was the 50 Brands Gallery Show at the Westinghouse Plaza Gallery in Boston.

The theme of the show was 50 brands that I developed for clients over the years. Each brand design was on a hanging poster. The poster showed the logo that I designed, subsequent photos of the logo in use and an overview of the project.
